Sunshine on a Winter Day

The SUOC (Stampin’ Up! Only Challenge) has a great theme - Anything Winter! I decided to make a winter card without any snow, even though we have snow here. Instead, I decided to focus on a glorious sunny day that can make even the coldest temperatures seem a little warmer. The trees are bare, but the sunshine is wonderful.

I started by stamping my trees from Winter Woods in Early Espresso on Very Vanilly card stock. Then I used Grapefruit Grove, Blushing Bride and Pineapple Punch to sponge my sunny background.

For the ground under my trees, I hand tore a piece of Early Espresso card stock. After I adhered it to my image piece I trimmed it to size.
I layered it on another piece of Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, and a Thick Very Vanilla card base. My sentiment is from the By The Bay stamp set, which is a lovely set you can choose for FREE during Sale-a-Bration (SAB) with any $60 order. I stamped and sponged in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla, and cut it out with one of the leaf dies from Nature’s Roots - the only leaf left on this winter day! A small Crumb Cake bow made with Nature’s Twine adds the finishing touch to my card.
I hope you are enjoying a bright sunny winter day.
