Flourish Sympathy

They may not be the type of cards we enjoy making most, but sympathy cards are necessary, and can make a big difference to someone who has lost a loved one. Hand made sympathy cards let your love and caring pour through the card, to the recipient.

I like to have some sympathy cards on hand, so I have something beautiful ready to send when needed. I had used a few recently, so wanted to add to my supply, so I pulled out my Flourish Thinlits, and some pretty card stock and got to work.
I used the With Sympathy sentiment from the Better Together stamp set, but I didn’t want my sentiment so long, I wanted it to fit within the oval and circle, so I used my Stamparatus to stamp the word With, and then easily lined up the word Sympathy below it.

For this card I cut two of the small flower stems, and a decorative border piece.

This card has the larger flower stem that extends on to the top border of the card.

Both cards are made the same, a bit of a fancy fold, but I made one portrait, and one landscape. To create this, you cut your card base 5 1/2 x 5 1/2, scored at 4 1/4. This leaves a 1 1/4 inch flap to fold over and adhere the second piece to. The rest of the card base layer is a complimentary colour, and measures 5 1/4 x 4. Using the smaller piece creates a nice border frame around the card.
