A Fun Technique

Today I have a fun and easy technique that gives your cards an interesting look. It is the Q-Tip technique, and it is a lot of fun!

I was playing with the Snow Front stamp set, but wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. I made a couple card fronts to play around with the set, and then decided I wanted to make some Spring trees. The leaves are just starting to come out on the trees in my areas. You can see some greenery, but they are certainly not in full bloom yet, so you also still see a lot of branch that will (hopefully) soon be hidden by the leaves. The Q-Tip technique seemed like the perfect way to create the early Spring look.
To do this, simply use the end of a Q-Tip, dabbed in your ink pad, then on to your paper. You get little dots of colour that look like leaves just starting to bloom. Of course the more you do, the more fullness your tree will have, but right now you can still see a lot of branches on the trees in my area, so I didn’t go too full.

I used Mossy Meadow, Pear Pizzazz and Soft Seafoam for my leaves. The trees and ground are stamped in Soft Suede. The sentiment on my card is from Waterfront, another similar type of stamp set. Some Linen thread wrapped around the bottom finished off my spring card.
Why not give this technique a try. It is easy, and fun to do!
