Friendly Thoughts

My card today is for the Fab Friday Challenge. It is a colour challenge, and I must say, when I saw the colours they gave us I was not sure about them! They certainly are not colours I would generally put together, but trusting the challenge I moved forward, and surprisingly it works!!

I started by sponging Grapefruit Grove and Petal Pink over the entire piece of Whisper White card stock. I then added some Blueberry Bushel and Call Me Clover to create some highlights on my background. My flower from the Floral Essence stamp set is stamped (twice) in Petal Pink ink on Petal Pink card stock, and punched out with the Perennial Flower punch. I layered them, and added a Grapefruit Grove flower centre, punched with the 1/2 inch circle punch. The leaves are stamped in Call Me Clover ink again on Petal Pink card stock and punched out with the Leaf punch. The sentiment on my card is also from the Floral Essence stamp set, stamped with Blueberry Bushel ink, and cut out with the Stitched Rectangle dies. I added a Grapefruit Grove 1/8 inch Grosgrain Ribbon.
I’m really happy with the way this card turned out, especially after my initial thoughts on the colour palette. That is just one of the reasons I love participating in these challenges. They really help inspire you to create outside your regular crafting box!
