You Can Do This

Thank you for stopping by my blog today. This post is part of Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog, and you can vote for my card. The theme for this month is Encouragement. We could all use some encouragement at one time or another, and sending someone a hand made card to give them some support can have an amazing impact and be very meaningful to the recipient. Here is my card.

I used the wonderful Dandelion Wishes for this card, and although there are some great sentiments in the set, I decided to go with a smaller stamp to fit my space and keep the proportions the way I wanted them. I really like this sentiment, and it is a wonderful way to let people know they are not alone in their journey.
To create my background, I tried a new (to me) technique. I wanted to create some texture and interest, but not overwhelm my dandelion. I used a ‘smushed’ (that’s the technical term!!) plastic bag as my ‘stamp’ I inked it up with Balmy Blue and then dabbed it all over my Whisper White card stock to create this interesting background. My dandelion and sentiment are stamped with Night of Navy, and my accent colour and card base are Grapefruit Grove. I added a few Metallic Pearls in Gold, and some Grapefruit Grove 1/8 Grosgrain Ribbon to finish it off.
