Night Ride In The City

The sun is setting on the city, the sky brilliant orange, red and purple as night time starts to descend, leaving the buildings in silhouette. A lone cyclist rides through the streets enjoying the quiet beauty nature provides. Hopefully you see that captured in my card for today.

I created this card for the Global Design Project challenge this week. It is a theme challenge, and the theme is to create a landscape. Here is the banner for the challenge.

I used three stamps from the Waterfront stamp set, turned sideways to how you would generally use them to stamp my building silhouettes in Momento Black ink. The evening sky is sponged in Grapefruit Grove, Cherry Cobbler and Night of Navy. As the Cherry Cobbler and Night of Navy mix, they create a perfect evening purple sky colour. My cyclist is from the Enjoy Life stamp set, also stamped in Momento Black ink, and layered on Balmy Blue. Both circles were cut with the Layered Circles Framelits. I used Balmy Blue for my card base, and decided to make it a bit of a fancy fold card. I started with a piece of 12 x 12 card stock, and cut it at 5 1/2 x 12. I scored at 4 and 8 inches, giving me a 5 1/2 x 4 inch card. I cut both sides at 3 1/2 inches, cutting the bottom off the left side, and the top off the right side.

My open card looks like the picture above, with the cyclist circle attached to the bottom front piece.
And here is how my card opens. The top and bottom open to opposite sides.
