A Room With a View

I love spending time at the cottage in the summer, and as everyone knows, I love paper crafting!! I find making handmade cards is a great way to relax, and when you give someone a hand made card you share joy and love. What a perfect combination. Over the years I have crafted in many places - my office, the dining room table, kitchen tables and counters, in my craft studio, and at my cottage. I must say that the room with the nicest view is the cottage - hands down! As I sit at my craft table I look out at the dock and lake, and the trees on the other side of the lake. It is beautiful and calming, and definitely a beautiful view. I spend a lot of time at the cottage in the summer, as does my neighbour out back, so for Margo's birthday card I wanted to make a card that reflected the beauty that we enjoy all summer. Here is the card I made for her.

I used the Rooted in Nature and Waterfront stamp sets to create my view, along with sponging in Balmy Blue for the sky, and Blueberry Bushel for the lake. I added some Silver Metallic Edge ribbon for a bit of birthday sparkle, and we are ready to celebrate. It is better to be here in person, but hopefully this card recreates the feel of being at the lake. It is a wonderful place to spend time!
