Craft Spot - Fabulous Sayings

The Product of the Month for January is a great stamp set with some everyday sentiments and some other sentiments that are fun for add-on messages and more.

I love the size of the “happy birthday” stamp, perfect for making it the focal point on your card, and also sized for scrapbook pages. I used first and second generation stamping (aka stamping off) to create a fun background with lots of shading. This is a great technique to get variations of colour with just one ink pad. Simply ink up your stamp, stamp on your card, then stamp again without re-inking. I used Timid Tiger for the focal image to add a pop of colour!

For this card I stamped the background in the same manner, but went on the diagonal. I mounted the sentiment straight to balance out the look.

I decided to use some Designer Series Paper scraps from the Floral Charm DSP pack for the last card. I’m always happy when I can make a pretty card while using scraps of my DSP!
As I crafter you likely have lots of scraps too, so get them out to make pretty backgrounds and easy cards with a lovely big sentiment from the Fabulous Sayings Stamp Set.
