A Happy New Year CASE
Happy New Year everyone. Let’s set aside anything that we didn’t like about 2021 and get ready for a great 2022!
This week the FAB Stampers decided on a challenge. For this week and next, we challenged ourselves and now we challenge you to CASE the catalogue.
I got to choose the card for this week, so I chose one from page 111 in the Annual Catalogue.
So what is a CASE? That is where we Copy And Selectively Edit another card or project. We take the parts that speak to us; perhaps the layout, the stamps used, the colours, or something else. Use what you like, and make it uniquely yours for the rest.
There are many great reasons to CASE another card. For starters, someone else did the creative work for you. You get to use their ideas without having to come up with them yourself. It is kind of like a mini card class!
Another fun thing about CASEing (yes, this is a stamping word!!) another card is how different the finished cards can look. Sometimes it is really difficult to see how they are the same, and that is fine. if it inspired your creativity, it did what it is supposed to do.
Here We Go!
The card in the catalogue has stamped strips of cardstock, but I swapped them out for You’re A Peach Designer Series Paper.
I changed to a birthday sentiment, using the Enjoy The Moment stamp set, but I did use the Tasteful Labels Dies that were used in the catalogue card. I also added ribbon in a similar way to the original, but used the Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon.

I also added ribbon in a similar way to the original, but used the Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon. I also added some Blue Adhesive Backed Gems, because, well, because I love gems, and these Balmy Blue ones are so pretty!
FROM JEANNE
This week, Connie challenged me to CASE a card from the current Annual Catalog. I’ll be using the Friendly Hello Bundle for my card.
Friendly Hello Bundle
I chose to use the Friendly Hello bundle from the new Sale-a-bration brochure, which goes LIVE on January 4th. This bundle contains a stamp set and coordinating DSP. You can get this bundle FREE with a qualifying order during January and February!
Hello Friend CASE
I used colors included in the Friendly Hello DSP. I chose Fresh Freesia for my card base, which is 5 ½” x 8 ½”, folded in half.
Instead of layering strips directly on the card base like the sample, I chose to add an extra panel of Shaded Spruce, cut to 4” x 5 ¼”. The strips of DSP measure 1 ¼” x 5 ¼”, 5/8” x 5 ¼”, and 1” x 5 ¼”, and are adhered directly onto the Shaded Spruce Panel. This panel is adhered to the card base.
Details
I stamped the Hello friend greeting in Shaded Spruce on Basic White and cut it out using a die from the Stitched Rectangles Die. Then, I used the next largest die in the same set to cut a Shaded Spruce rectangle. I ran Stampin’ Seal just in the center of the Shaded Spruce rectangle, folded a piece of Fresh Freesia ribbon and adhered it to the rectangle. Then, I used Dimensionals to pop up the greeting over the ribbon.
The Shaded Spruce rectangle was adhered directly over the DSP. Of course, no project is complete without a little bling, so I added three Loose Flower Flourishes to finish it off.
Thanks for visiting! We hope you enjoyed our CASE cards.
We would love to have you make your own, using our samples here to inspire you.
