Fun With Bits

In a post back in July I showed some fun ways to use scraps to create backgrounds and accent pieces for cards. Today I have a couple more ideas for using small pieces of cardstock or Designer Series Paper to inspire you to great card making.

I had been playing with my Blending Brushes again. Have I mentioned how much fun they are and how I hate to stop blending and playing when I use them?!! I had created a background piece, but wasn’t sure what I wanted to add to the front. I had some circles that I had die cut for a colour display, and they made a perfect accent to show off my pretty background colours. My sentiments is from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set, and I embellished the card with some Opal Rounds that pick up my colours beautifully.

The next card has pieces that I die cut from the Stitched Triangles Dies. I had made some cards with the fun Pattern Party Designer Series Paper that is available with Host Rewards, and had some small pieces left over. I die cut triangles to use the small bits, but wasn’t sure what to do with them. When I have little bits like this I often just play with them on my work table moving them around and I often ‘trip’ over a fun design! I added a Crushed Curry background piece that I embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder, added a sentiment from the Free As A Bird stamp set that I punched with the Double Oval Punch along with a Bermuda Bay scalloped frame from the same punch. I added a couple Rhinestone Basic Jewels to finish it off. I’m really happy with how this card turned out, and all I was doing was using up bits!
