My Box of Bits For GDP188

I am often surprised how inspiration comes to us, and how it evolves as we start to create. That is the case with my card for today.

This is my card for the Global Design Project this week. This week is CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) the Designer, and it is a card from the amazing Brian King. I love the style of his cards, and this one is no exception. Here is the banner for this week.

He used some of the Gingham Gala 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper, which I love, so I pulled it out as I was getting ready to make my card. As I was doing this, I noticed my Box of Bits sitting nearby and a piece of card stock that I had stamped on with the Buffalo Check background stamp. I decided that I wanted to use it instead of the DSP he had used. And that is how inspiration leads to creativity and I have used something from my Box of Bits - always a good feeling!
I decided that rather than just having a check pattern, I would use my Stampin’ Write marker to draw in lines and make a plaid pattern instead of a check pattern.

I love the Nine Lives stamp set (yes, I’m a cat person!), so I wanted to use that for my card. I stamped and punched my cat, and coloured him with my Stampin’ Blends. The sentiment is from the same set, cut out with the Layering Circles Framelits along with a Cherry Cobbler circle of the same size. From there is was just adding layers to finish my card. Brian makes great use of layers, and I love the effect so I CASE’d that part for my card.

I added a ball of wool for the cat to play with, and a heart to share my love with the recipient of this card to finish off the inside. It is fun to CASE a card you like, why not give it a try now.
