Take Me To The Sea

The Global Design Project Challenge this week is a theme, and the theme is Take Me To The Sea.

I don't live very close to a sea, but I do live on Georgian Bay, and both the sea and Georgian Bay make me think of lighthouses. That meant that the High Tide stamp set was the one I immediately reached for to make my card for this challenge. Here is my card.

I had a lot of fun making this card and the various bits of it! The High Tide stamp set provided most of the stamps, with the two step lighthouse stamps, the sea gulls and the sand. For the water I decided to use the negative cut out from the Lakeside Framelits water as a template for my waves. I cut a simple mask of the sand so my water would stay off the shore, then I used sponge daubers to sponge Balmy Blue and Mint Macaron on the template to make water colours waves on my card.

My greeting is from the Another Wonderful Year stamp set, and cut out with another die from the Lakeside Framelits. Looking at this card makes me feel summery all over!!
