Let's Get Messy!
The Water Painters are back in stock, so it’s time to play with them, and I figured Let’s Get Messy!!
You can certainly use these to add colour to a line image, and they are not messy, but today I decided to do a wash, also not messy, but then to add splatters, can certainly be messy!
When I made the first one, I just left the cardstock sitting on my desk. My glass mat was down so I wasn’t worried about the work surface. What I didn’t really consider was the upward and sideways splatters. Oh well, it all washed off and my hands are no longer splattered with ink. :-)
I used the Prairie Grass stamp set to stamp my black silhouette image onto the background wash I created with Highland Heather and Lemon Lime Twist. I made this card using regular Basic White cardstock.
For the second card I used Watercolour Paper. I started by brushing the whole piece with water, the dabbed on the inks allowing them to bleed on the moist paper. This gives a whole different look from the first one where I brushed on the colour.
I love all the different looks you can create with the Water Painters and some ink. You never know exactly how they will turn out until they are dry, and the mystery is part of the creative fun.
