Summertime Friendship Bird

It’s summer and the birds are everywhere, enjoying my bird feeders, and the trees in the yard. The cute bird in my card today is on one of the pieces of Designer Series paper from the Bird Ballad Suite of products. This is a whole suite of wonderful items so watch for more of these in upcoming cards.

I made this card for the Fab Friday challenge. Here is the layout that inspired my card.

There are some really pretty papers in the Bird Ballad DSP package, and a wonderful coordinating stamp set, Free As A Bird. I used one of the sentiments from that set for my card. There are also some wonderful Stitched Nested Labels Dies, but I’ll show you those in another card. Today I used the Tailored Tag punch for my sentiment and border.

The sketch for this challenge has a scalloped border down one side, so I had to decide what I wanted on my card to represent that. I chose one of the dies from the Magnolia Memory set. It cuts and embosses one piece, and leaves you with a second piece with a pretty edge as well. I will use that on another card so watch for that!

My backdrop is Mossy Meadow, embossed with the Basket Weave folder, layered on Pool Party, and a Daffodil Delight card base.
I finished the card with some Gold Metallic Pearls, and added some to the flower centres as well.
