A Gorgeous Colour Palette

I love playing along with the Global Design Project Challenge each week, and this week is one of my favourites! It's colour challenge week, and this one has an amazing colour palette.

These are such fun colours they make it easy to create a beautiful card. Here is my finished card.

The details . . .
My first thought when I saw these colours was that I wanted to sponge my background with all three colours to really show off their beauty.

How absolutely gorgeous is this? This is truly an amazing colour palette to work with.
So now I had my background idea, but hadn't decided what I wanted to put on it. As I was looking through the projects from the Global Design Team members, I was once again inspired by Brian King. You may recall he was the designer we cased in last weeks challenge, (you can see that post here), and he continues to share his fantastic creations in these challenges. Here is the card he posted this week.

When I saw his card, I too wanted a butterfly for mine, and immediately knew I wanted to emboss on vellum! This way, the gorgeous colours from my background would show through, making my butterfly beautiful as well. I embossed my butterfly with copper embossing powder and then cut it out for my card.

I used the butterfly stamp from the Beautiful Day stamp set, which also has two great greeting stamps. The happy birthday stamp was perfect for my card.
As I was finishing my card I wanted to add some Rich Razzleberry accents. I decided to use my Rich Razzleberry Dark Stampin' Blend to colour on some Rhinestones. Super easy, and they made the perfect accent to finish my card.
I'm really happy with my completed project and hope you like it too.
