Tone on Tone in a Colour Challenge

The Global Design Project this week is a colour challenge, and they are bright colours that make me think of flowers.

I decided that in addition the Global Design Project Challenge, I would also challenge myself to use only these 3 colours, and not even add in a neutral.

I used tone on tone for my cut outs with Lemon Lime Twist leaf branches, Melon Mambo flowers, and Pool Party accent leaves. I like using tone on tone to add some extra texture in my projects. I also layered my leaves, including the Pool Party on Pool Party accent leaves, and popped the flowers up with dimensionals.

I decided to use a sympathy sentiment for this card because, unfortunately, we need to have some sympathy cards ready, and I hope these colours can be a little bit of brightness for someone during a difficult time.

To layer the tags, stamp and punch the sentiment close to one end, then punch the other end again, making the tag a bit smaller. An easy way to move the tag around in the punch is to make a post-it note 'handle' for the tag. After the double punching, I used my paper snips to trim the top and bottom so my whole tag would have a border. I added a bit of Lemon Lime Twist ribbon and my card is done.
